M. Sc. Tanmoy Chakraborty
Tanmoy Chakraborty started his PhD in June 2013 at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Advanced Materials Simulation (ICAMS), Ruhr-Universität Bochum. He is investigating the structure and composition of Ti-Ta shape memory alloys on the atomistic level using density-functional theory. To study the transformation mechanisms between different stable phases he employs the solid-state nudged elastic band method to determine the minimum energy path as well as transition path sampling to investigate dynamical properties.
